thank you thirteen!

how this has happened I'm not quite sure, but it's time to say 'thank you' to twenty-thirteen & gear up for a fantastic fourteen! reflecting right back through the many events that mark my memories of this year, there was nothing typical or unmemorable about those twelve months. through eight countries, four cities, two internships & one set of eyes, I've seen more of the world in this one year than my past two decades combined. my family, my dreams & my perspective have most definitely changed & though some experiences have been exponentially more enjoyable than others, I feel ready to ring in the new year & I excitedly await the adventures to come!

check into cheer

why hello there holidays!  it's about time to welcome in a wonderful day when bits of family bickering & frostbitten fingers all find a happy place around a hot cup of tea gazing upon a lively decorated tree. I plan on handing out my hand-wrapped gifts, sipping cute cocktails & munching on more cookies than I care to truly admit... hope you've checked into your cheer for a very happy christmas!

taking on tartan

though taking on some trends can turn out quite terrible, a terrific tartan this winter is definitely worth your while! no matter your level of scottish heritage, the perfect plaid pattern can add warmth to your wardrobe. try tartan trousers with a plain white tee or an oversized checkered coat with darkwash denim. not ready to run the print head to toe? a classic & cute scarf or set of loafers look lovely paired with your favorite knits & winter staples! how will you take on your tartan?

hey there hat!

my pick for the most awesome winter accessory? a fantastic felt hat! I've raved about really great hats here before but am serious about this season's edgy take. feeling a fedora or a floppy brim? find one that fits right around your face for a cool confidence boost. the mysterious look behind a stylish brim adds an extra layer to any after-atumn look. for an on-trend take, pair your hat with a perfectly edgy peacoat or a sweet sweater & add ankle booties! can you beat that wonderful winter look?

bundle up buttercup

this wonderful week started with one overarching thought : brrrrrrrrr.... I hadn't believed in october's arrival until nothing in my wardrobe but the pile of pillowy, pilling & perfectly cozy sweaters were all my hand would reach for. from autumn to winter, it's time to embrace excuses to wear the overly oversized in the comfiest & coziest of knit sweaters & wool socks. keep it classic american with straight skinnies, collegiate comfortable with lengthy leggings or beautifully bold with a knee length skirt. it's time to bundle up buttercup!

fun in francais

a city of love, a city of luxe... paris has plenty to offer from pastries to pretty pastel skyscapes. though we're all familiar with the fancy subdued hues of the parisian look, the deeply romantic have also been making memorable pops of patriotic color!  these fantastic & fun blocks of blues & reds really make a statement against the serene streets of the city, creating a few moments of fashion week I think deserve a second glance. art deco decorations or adventurous accessories, where would your french wardrobe wear its color?
