a light round of rain had just finished falling & despite the fresh blue skies above & dewey green grass below, the only color I was truly seeing was the sunshine yellow dandelions popping up everywhere they're not really supposed to be. they may be weeds, but I still find them quiet wonderful. the dandelion yellow doesn't need to be reserved for the corners of your garden (or for coachella-inspired hippie head bands) as there is plenty of space on your elbow for a bright bag or on your feet for citrus shoes. I love the idea of displaying this dandelion hue as a pop against a black & white print, a lemon-y look made modern for spring & summer by the likes of michael kors, marc jacobs & the lovely katie ermilio. how will you be doning your dandelions?

met gala glamour
it was a punk party at this year's met gala as celebrities & style stars celebrated the institute's exciting new exhibition, punk: chaos to couture. I hope to catch a glimpse of the glamour this summer in the city and make my way to the met museum, remembering the red carpet moments that captured the fierce, the fun & the frivolous of modern fashion just two nights ago. I personally picked sarah jessica parker's phillip treacy mohawk, emma watson's slitted prabal gurung gown, dakota fanning's rodarte wings & jennifer lawrence in her classic dior lbd as a few of my favorite statements. what were your top moments of met gala glamour?

made for may
and we awoke yesterday morning to not just march or april, but may! meaning it is not only time for bouquets and bike rides but also floral skirts and flat sandals. this spring I hope to master mixing both blooming and graphic prints through high-low dresses and carry-all kate spade's! the fresh air and blue skies have my closet calling for flowing florals while I wouldn't mind playing up the prints with wild bouquet blooms. may is a month for the most cliche & classic of springtime essentials, so bring on the straw hats, sunny picnics & plenty of skipping!

show off your chevron
I'm sure you've noticed the notable arrangement of spring stripes of both black & white that are dominating stores this season. the monstrous trend (most likely from marc jacobs) has created a bit of monochrome madness that I am not one bit mad about! stripes are fantastic & will stay a part of your wardrobe for the years & through the trends to come. if you're looking to stray from straight up stripes : try showing off some chevron instead! this print always seems to perk me up & adds an extra bit of interest to your ensemble. couple it with gingham or just let it loose all over your frock, the effect is sure to be a stylin'!

daring with dungarees
last week love took lead, and I awarded my wardrobe with a pair of oversized overalls! determined to find the loose & leisurely fit of my dreams, I ventured down brick lane to blitz before trying on every pair of vintage dungarees that dared to catch my eye. my overall obsession goes way back, but I've been entirely inspired by their current street style status thanks to the likes of leandra medine, alexa chung & cara delevinge. playfully paired with simple tees & statement jewels, mixing textures & flattering footwear are the key to killing this look! my favorite future take is to make them feminine with a pretty purse & peter pan collar top... how will you dare to dress up your dungarees?
