how this has happened I'm not quite sure, but it's time to say 'thank you' to twenty-thirteen & gear up for a fantastic fourteen! reflecting right back through the many events that mark my memories of this year, there was nothing typical or unmemorable about those twelve months. through eight countries, four cities, two internships & one set of eyes, I've seen more of the world in this one year than my past two decades combined. my family, my dreams & my perspective have most definitely changed & though some experiences have been exponentially more enjoyable than others, I feel ready to ring in the new year & I excitedly await the adventures to come!

this wonderful week started with one overarching thought : brrrrrrrrr.... I hadn't believed in october's arrival until nothing in my wardrobe but the pile of pillowy, pilling & perfectly cozy sweaters were all my hand would reach for. from autumn to winter, it's time to embrace excuses to wear the overly oversized in the comfiest & coziest of knit sweaters & wool socks. keep it classic american with straight skinnies, collegiate comfortable with lengthy leggings or beautifully bold with a knee length skirt. it's time to bundle up buttercup!

a city of love, a city of luxe... paris has plenty to offer from pastries to pretty pastel skyscapes. though we're all familiar with the fancy subdued hues of the parisian look, the deeply romantic have also been making memorable pops of patriotic color!  these fantastic & fun blocks of blues & reds really make a statement against the serene streets of the city, creating a few moments of fashion week I think deserve a second glance. art deco decorations or adventurous accessories, where would your french wardrobe wear its color?

fashion weeks around the world were looking as fabulous as ever for spring fourteen & through my incessant pinning, I found myself quite inspired by the details captured off the catwalk. bold hues at burberry, mad shapes & adornments at mary katrantzou, pretty ponytails at roksanda ilincic & the ever ethereal touches at erdem... is anyone else stuck in serious daydreams about these dear details & bits of backstage?

crisp & clean, calvin klein took the sheer trend to their aesthetic with new necklines & knee length skirts

marc jacobs' floral fashions were for a fashionable & fringe-filled garden party that could possibly be out of this world

we'll start with the all-american & a la mode michael kors whose crops, crocodile, nude hues & navy-s never missed a detail of the designer's aesthetic  

next up nanette lapore laid out lady like looks, perfect for a beautiful breezy day next may

elizabeth & james kept it cool & mainly minimalistic for styles celebrities from kate moss to olivia palermo would wear in every tabloid tear

another clean-cut collection, I adore the short hemlines happening at j mendel

this wearable collection that was styled simply perfect & pretty, white sundresses and sunhats that will work at any occasion  

creating an essence of concrete jungle, clover canyon's prints were geometric & edgy 

made of the most modern & luxurious lace & shapes, marchesa's runway was an unreal selection of sheer skirts & slightly sexy silhouettes

tuesday started up stylishly with tory burch bringing in a bit of casual glam

j crew was as joyous as ever with witty tees & popping prints 

arriving with a touch of tie die & sheer panels, adeam made modern dress look delicate 

what to wear to the fancy french riviera? basically everything badgley mischka made this season

of course I'm including oscar de la renta whose black & whites were basically worth wearing everyday & everywhere

simply put, sheer polka dots had me sold at sass & bide

mary kate & ashley are as awesome as always, the row revealed another rad yet relaxed season with fun hats & lots of flow

karen walker spring is for the quirky school girl, so naturally I think this theme is perfectly necessary for a nerd like me! 

on the more modern, streamlined & simplistic side, 3.1 phillip lim worked crisp, wearable whites with daring details

& obviously I could never pass over an alice + olivia look book, the shift dress & giant skirt in stencil-esque prints? pretty please!

I admit I didn't know of delpozo until flipping through fashion week but I do dare to say this collection is stocked with stunning silhouettes (not to mention sunflower prints!) & I'm officially a dear delpozo fan

derek lam's dresses of checks are worth checking out while I'd also take another look at the loose-fitting textures 

a golden girl of every decade, diane von furstenburg has me searching for safari trips & screenings of the lion king 

very very my style is all to say over vivienne tam's beautiful boxy jackets in both fun florals & flared-up plaids

saving some glamour for the end : sunday's finale at zac posen pretty much sums up the cecil beaton darlings of drama that inspired the designer
